The Marinai d'Italia patches were custom-developed with a felt base and a PVC top. The project required a construction able to keep its shape, definition and durability over time.
During development two options for joining the materials were compared: gluing and stitching. We chose to stitch the PVC to the felt because this solution offered greater strength and reduced the risk of separation between the two layers.
To shorten timing, sampling was verified through detailed photos and videos. The multimedia material made it possible to check shape, edges, alignment and stitching quality without waiting for the physical sample to be shipped.
