The Green Heart keychain is a soft-PVC shaped character, with a QR code on the back, a custom silicone lanyard and metal components for attachment.
The project stems from a concrete issue: with the previous supplier some QR codes were not read quickly and reliably, undermining a key function of the gadget. We therefore oversaw the moulds and the construction of the character, taking care of arms and legs — thin, breakage-prone elements — as well as the lanyard and carabiner.
Quality control was built around the real risks: QR scanning verified on a random sample of 50-100 units, and the sturdiness of limbs, joints, lanyard and metal components.
